A nice soundboard showcasing the band in its first year
As legend goes, or so I recall, Railroad Earth played a few shows here and there, got invited to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in June 2001, where they made such an impression that they were signed to a management and/or record deal then (or soon after). If so, while in town the band must have played some other little venues, such as this one-hour set at the Elks Lodge. Many standards (aka "classics") are performed (Cold Water, Black Bear, Bird in a House, Head, Sing for Me). Hey, it's got Black Bear (my personal favorite) and Head (one of my "top 10"), and the sound is very good, so this little one CDR soundboard is a "keeper" for this Hobo. Five stars for good song selection, good sound, a slice of RRE history, and good vibes.
